Chi Mei Hospital is the largest healthcare system in the Yunlin–Chiayi–Tainan region of Taiwan, with three campuses—Chi Mei Medical Center, Liouying Chi Mei Hospital, and Chiali Chi Mei Hospital—providing a total of 2,532 beds. Guided by the core values of compassion, professionalism, and efficiency, Chi Mei leverages its medical expertise to pioneer innovative models of healthcare.
Patient-Centered Care, Health for All
Guided by the value of “patient-centered care,”Chi Mei Hospital has pioneered Hospital at Home, bringing hospital-level services directly to patients’ homes. At the same time, through the initiative 7,000 Steps a Day, A Thousand Walking Together, we have woven health into employees’ daily lives. By caring for patients and supporting staff, Chi Mei advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
First in Taiwan to Drive Policy Change
Evidence shows Hospital at Home patients have fewer emergency visits and a satisfaction rate of over 96%. Our advocacy inspired the Ministry of Health and Welfare to launch the “Hospital at Home Pilot Program,” expanding it nationwide and positioning Chi Mei as the benchmark.
Better Health, Fewer Emissions
In the “7K a Day, 1K Walking the Wave” program, 82.9% of staff reported better health, and 72.7% developed healtheir habits. Together they walked 1.28 billion steps—reducing carbon emissions by 145 tons. In 2025, the enhanced program will extend to employee's families, our other two campuses and more partner enterprises.
Grounded in medical expertise, Chi Mei combines smart healthcare with preventive medicine—not only protecting employees, but also extending care to every patient. These efforts advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and honor our founder’s wish: “A hundred years from now, may Chi Mei Hospital remain a lasting legacy for Taiwan.”
