Mei Medical Center offers hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) treatment in a caring
and comfortable setting where
patients suffering from various disorders can receive advanced medical
treatment. Since 1999, Chi Mei Medical Center has been nationally
recognized for delivery of comprehensive hyperbaric oxygen therapy with
emphasis of the highest quality of medical care. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
has been proven effective in treating chronic problem wounds, traumatic
brain injury, cerebral ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, carbon monoxide
poisoning, acute and chronic ischemia-hypoxic encephalopathy, diabetic
foot, gas gangrene, Fournier’s gangrene, chronic osteomyelities, burns,
crushing, sudden deafness, acute retinal artery occlusion, decompression
sickness, air embolism injury and radiation-induced soft tissue injury.
Chi-Mei HBO service provides a monoplace hyperbaric chamber and a
multiplace walk-in chamber classified as category for intensive critical
care. Our team is staffed by two HBO specialists, four technicians, and two
hyperbaric medicine technologists. In addition to direct clinical care, the
hyperbaric medicine department is actively engaged in basic research and
development to promote ongoing improvement in quality of care for our
patients.
