Indications
Analgesic / Antitussive
Administration & Dosage

Adult
Analgesic: PO, 15-60 mg (usually 30 mg) q3-6hrs as needed.
Antitussive: PO, 10-20 mg q4-6h. Max. 120 mg/d.
Pediatric
Analgesic: PO, 0.5 mg/kg or 15 mg/m2 q4-6 hr as needed.

Contraindication
during labor when delivery of premature infant is anticipated,hypersensitivity to codeine,premature infants.
Precaution
 
Adverse reaction
Constipation; N/V; drowsiness; sedation; anaphylactoid reactions; convulsions (with excessive doses); hypotension (with IV use); respiratory depression
