Administration
& Dosage
PO, Adult & Pediatric Tuberculosis, in combination with other antitubercular drugs: 15-30 mg/kg QD; or 50-70 mg/kg 2-3 times/wk, depending on the treatment regimen. Max. Adult, 2 g/d; 3 g/dose for the 3 times/wk regimen, 4 g/dose for the 2 times/wk regimen. Children, 2 g/d, 3 g/dose for the 3 times/wk regimen, 4 g/dose for the 2 times/wk regimen.
Contraindication
acute gout;hypersensitivity to pyrazinamide products;severe hepatic dysfunction.

R: Gouty arthritis; hepatotoxicity (related to large doses; i.e. 40 to 50 mg /kg/d for prolonged periods of time); itching; skin rash
