Adult
Anthrax, inhalational (treatment):PO, 500 mg q12h
Bone and joint infections:
Mild or moderate: PO, 500 mg q12h
Severe or complicated: PO, 750 mg q12h
Infectious diarrhea:Mild to severe: PO, 500 mg q12h for 5-7 days
Gonorrhea, endocervical and urethral: PO, 250 mg as a single dos
Intra-abdominal infections: PO, 500 mg q12h for 7-14 days in combination with oral metronidazole
Lower respiratory tract infections; Skin and soft tissue infections:
Mild to moderate: PO, 500 mg q12h
Severe or complicated: PO, 750 mg q12h
Chronic prostatitis: Mild or moderate: PO, 500 mg q12h; for 28 days
Mild or moderate Sinusitis or typhoid fever: PO, 500 mg q12h for 10 days.
Urinary tract infections:
Acute uncomplicated: PO, 100 or 250 mg q12h for 3 days
Mild or moderate: PO, 250 mg q12h; 7-14 days.
Severe or complicated: PO, 500 mg q12h; 400 mg q12h for 7-14 days.
Pediatric
Anthrax, inhalational (treatment):PO, 15 mg/kg/dose,<500 mg/dose, q12h
Pyelonephritis or UTI:
PO, 10-20 mg/kg/dose,<750 mg/dose, q12h for 10-21 days. |
