Adult
Psychotic disorders: IM,10-20 mg; the dose may be repeated q2-4h as needed, usually up to 3-4 doses.
Maintenance if prolonged parenteral administration is required: IM, 10-20 mg q4-6h. Max. 200 mg/d.
Nausea and vomiting: IM, 5-10 mg; the dose may be repeated q3-4hrs if needed. Max. 40 mg/d.
Nausea and vomiting in surgery:
IM, 5-10 mg 1-2 hrs before induction of anesthesia or during or after surgery to control acute symptoms; the dose may be repeated once in 30 mins and may be repeated q3-4 hr to a total dose of 40 mg/d, if needed.
IV, administered rate<5 mg/min, 5-10 mg 15-30 mins before induction of anesthesia or during or after surgery to control acute symptoms; the dose may be repeated once if needed.
IV infusion, 20 mg in 1000 ml of isotonic solution, administered during or after surgery
Pediatric
Psychotic disorders:
IM, 0.132 mg/kg, not exceeding 10 mg the 1st day.
Nausea and vomiting:
2-12 yrs: IM, 0.132 mg/kg, not exceeding 10 mg the 1st day. |
