Adult
Antianxiety:

IM, 0.05 mg/kg, Max. 4 mg. Dose should be administered at least 2 hrs prior to surgery for optimum amnestic effect.
IV, initial 0.044 mg/kg or a total dose of 2 mg, whichever is less. For greater amnestic effect, up to 0.05 mg/kg, Max. 4 mg. Dose should be administered 15-20 mins prior to surgery for optimum amnestic effect.
Sedative-hypnotic IM/IV as antianxiety agent used.
Amnestic:IM/IV as antianxiety agent used.
Status epilepticus: IV slowly, initial 4 mg administered, if seizures continue or recur after 10-15 mins, the dose may be repeated. Max. 8 mg in a 12 hr period.
Pediatric
Antianxiety agent: initial 0.5-2 mg/d in divided doses.

hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines or any component of the product, polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, or benzyl alcohol;
intra-arterial administration(may produce arteriospasm resulting in gangrene);
acute narrow-angle glaucoma;
respiratory insufficiency(severe, in the absence of resuscitative equipment );
