Features of Quality Care
Medical Imaging/ 影像醫學部
The Department of Medical Imaging at Chi Mei Medical Center is staffed by a full team of board-certified radiologists, supported by a coordinated network of radiologic technologists, nursing professionals, and administrative specialists. This integrated team structure ensures high-quality diagnostics, seamless workflows, and patient-centered care.
Our Radiological Diagnosis Division is equipped with advanced imaging technology, including three MRI scanners, two angiography systems, a state-of-the-art 1152-slice dual-source CT scanner, one 256-slice CT scanner, one 64-slice CT scanner, and an additional 64-slice CT system dedicated to interventional procedures. We also provide the latest 3D digital breast tomosynthesis, along with next-generation ultrasound units, and a full suite of general and specialized X-ray systems.
A robust PACS infrastructure enables immediate access to medical images and supports cross-platform image sharing in alignment with the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s interoperability initiatives. This enhances diagnostic efficiency and ensures comprehensive imaging support for clinical decision-making.
The department is also a leader in interventional radiology in southern Taiwan. Chi Mei has extensive experience performing Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) procedures and has introduced Y-90 radioembolization for liver cancer. Our teams also perform advanced neuro-interventional therapies, including mechanical thrombectomy for acute stroke and endovascular embolization for cerebral aneurysms.
In recent years, the department has implemented multiple AI-assisted diagnostic systems-covering neuroimaging, thoracic imaging, and musculoskeletal applications-to further enhance the speed, accuracy, and consistency of radiology reporting.
