Butenafine hydrochloride is a synthetic antifungal agent that

belongs to benzylamine class. It inhibits the synthesis of

ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, by

blocking squalene epoxidation. It may be either fungicidal or

fungistatic against most strains of Epidermophyton floccosum,

Malassezia furfur and Trichophytons .

Topic application,

Adult and Pediatric¡Ù12yrs

Pityriasis versicolor, Tinea corporis, Tinea cruris : once daily

for 2 wk.

Tinea pedis, Interdigital: twice daily for 7 days or once daily for 4 wk.

Pot. Permanganate (KMnO4) is an oxidant. Potassium permanganate can act as a disinfectant.

The primary mode of pathogen inactivation by potassium permanganate is direct oxidation of cell material or specific enzyme destruction.  In the same fashion, the permanganate ion (MnO4-) attacks a wide range of microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, viruses, and algae.

1:1000 sol¡¦n in water: cleansing application to ulcers or abscesses.

1:4000 sol¡¦n in water: gargle or mouthwash , wet dressing, baths in eczematous conditions.

5% sol¡¦n: powerful aseptic action.
