  1. Takepron®, Pantoloc®: Decrease secretion of gastric acid; treatment for peptic ulcer and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
  2. DexiLant®: Treatment for various GERD including erosive reflux esophagitis.
  1. Use as directed by your physician or by labeling direction. In general, PPI is taken before meal (empty stomach).
  2. Pantoloc® should be swallowed whole.
  3. Takepron® is orodispersible (melt-in-the-mouth), you can place it on tongue where it melts in mouth or swallow the tablet with water.
  4. DexiLant® should be swallowed whole.
Nasogastric tube feeding (N-G tube feeding)
  1. Open the capsule then pour the inner particles into 20mL water.
  2. Pull back the syringe plunger to draw, which is to ensure the NG tube is still in the stomach. If there is nothing wrong with the drawn-out stomach substances, let it return to stomach naturally.
  3. Use the syringe to draw out the solution from cup.
  4. Re-attach the syringe to NG tube and inject slowly.
  5. After a feeding is finished, flush in 10mL water with the same syringe.
  1. If you miss a dose, please take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
  2. Alcohol and smoking would decrease efficacy of the medicine.
  3. Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any of the following conditions: allergy of PPI, pregnancy, breastfeeding, medical history of liver and/or blood disease.
  4. Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking clarithromycin (an antibiotic), anti-fungal agents or antiviral drugs.
  5. DO NOT stop taking the medicine without your doctor’s advice.
  1. Side effects
    • Get medical help right away if you have any of these signs of a serious condition: chest pain over 15 minutes, urticarial rash, dyspnea (hard to breathe), bloody/black stools, bloody vomit, vomit that looks like coffee grounds and abnormal bleeding or bruise.
    • If you have any of the following symptoms, please tell your doctor when you get back to the clinic: nausea, diarrhea, constipation, headache, skin rash and loss of appetite.
  2. Storage
    • Store at room temperature, keep the medication away from heat and moisture.
    • Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.
    • DO NOT share your medication with other people.
