Adult
Bronchodilator:
Loading dose: initial 300 mg/d. If tolerated, the dosage may be increased after 3 days to 400 mg/d After≧ 3 days, if tolerated, the dosage may be increased to 20 mg/kg, Max. 600 mg/d. One-half of the daily theophylline dose may be given at 12 hr intervals. Younger patients may require dosing at 8-hr intervals.
Pediatric
Bronchodilator:
Capsule dosage form: (≧ 1 yrs,<45 kg)
12-14 mg/kg, Max. 300 mg/d in divided doses. The dosage may be increased, if tolerated, after 3 days to 16 mg/kg, Max. 400 mg/d.
