| Administration
& Dosage |
In parenteral nutrition for energy & essential fatty acids:
1-2 g of fat/kg/d, infusion rate of 1st 15 mins should not exceed 0.05-1g/kg/hr. Max. infusion rate up to 0.125g of fat/kg/hr. |

| Contraindication |
severe blood coagulaton disorders;
states of shock and collapse;
acute thromboembolism,
fat embolism;
severe septicaemia accompanied by acidosis and hypoxia;
acute phase of myocardial infarction and stroke;
keto-acidosis coma;
decompensated diabetic metabolism or unstable metabolism;
acidosis of various origin;
uncorrected disturbance of the electrolyte and fluid balance;
triglyceride accumulation in disorders of lipid metabolism, liver disease, disorders of the reticulo-rndothelial system, haemorrhagic necrotizing pancretitis. |
