Adult
Antibacterial- Bejel, Pinta or Yaws: 1.2 MU as a single dose.
Rheumatic heart disease prophylaxis: 1.2 MU q3- 4 wks.
Pharyngitis, streptococcal: 1.2 MU as a single dose.
Syphilis (primary, secondary, and early latent): 2.4 MU as a single dose.
Syphilis (tertiary and late latent, excluding neurosyphilis): 2.4 MU once a wk for 3 wks.
Pediatric
Pharyngitis, streptococcal: Infants and children< 27.3 kg, 300,000 to 600,000 Units as a single dose. Children3 27.3 kg, 900,000 Units as a single dose.
Rheumatic fever (prophylaxis): 1.2 MU q2- 3 wks.
Syphilis (primary, secondary, and early latent): 50,000 U/kg, < 2.4 MU, as a single dose.
Syphilis (late latent or latent of unknown duration): 50,000 U/kg once a wk for 3wks.
Max. 2.4 MU/day. |
