Features of Quality Care

Surgery

CMMC is committed to improving health care quality for the residents of Southern Taiwan. In 2012, it was the first hospital in Southern Taiwan to purchase a da Vinci Robot for the use in a wide range of surgical procedures such as general surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiovascular surgery, urology, and obstetrics and gynecology. A Da Vinci Skills Simulator is available for training of surgeons in robotassisted surgical skills.
A medical fund of USD 3 million donated by Mr. Hsu Wen-lung, founder of the Chi Mei Group, has been assisting patients with financial hardships to receive high-tech care. Up till June 2019, there were more than 1,500 patients being supported by the fund to undergo surgery using da Vinci robotic system. In 2018, CMMC installed the first new Artis Pheno® multiaxis angiography system in the Chinese-speaking world. The system provides physicians with whole body imaging from head to toes with sharply detailed images, helps enhance clinical decision-making, reduces the waiting time for surgery, and extends physicians' capabilities in minimally invasive interventional procedures, including cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, abdominal tumor surgery, and trauma.
