The department of nursing has been one of the most positive professional practice environments for nurses in Taiwan, with a far-lower turnover rate of 4.8-5.5% than other hospitals. In 2011, it was awarded the TTQS gold medal by the Bureau of Employment and Vocational Training of the Executive Yuan, making it a national benchmark for excellence. In 2012, the department won the Symbol of National Quality (SNQ) gold and bronze medals as well as accreditation for high quality nursing care, home care, integrated maternal and infant care services. From 2013 to 2018, the department has won 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals in the competition on evidence-based practice for quality of care. The Smart Postoperative Care System, Healthcare Communication System, Medical Interactive TV, Smart Healthcare Information Appliance, and Smart Healthcare Information Display the department developed have obtained patents from the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economic Affairs in the years 2016-2017. Since 2014, the nursing department has been providing long-term care services; its in-home services received the Medal of Excellence, awarded by the Tainan City Government in 2017.
